Jerry has established himself as a development professional that is recognized as a “critical catalyst” in community development that has demonstrated a full knowledge of the crucial elements of fund raising and over and over again has maximized the investments to an organization. Jerry clearly understands and applies government and business process and the most effective means to bring them together for the good of their community. As STELLAR’s President and COO, Jerry actively participates in all phases of the process, providing a critical quality-control function and making sure that every campaign and all clients are satisfied with results that are on-time, under-budget, and over-goal.
A STELLAR Career
Jerry has an excellent mix of critical business and leadership experience both in the private and public sector having served as a project director in government, vice president and secretary/ treasurer of an international manufacturing corporation as well as a CEO of a non-profit focused on economic development and workforce development. Over the past six years, Jerry has emerged as one of the industry leaders in helping organizations and communities come together in order to maximize their potential and put the necessary funding at the table to succeed during critical times. Jerry has directed multi-million dollar capital campaigns at a record shattering pace. His capital campaign experience includes chambers, foundations, universities, economic development, education and other organizations.
A STELLAR Foundation
As a Business Administration graduate from the University of South Carolina and a Masters of Education from Winthrop University, Jerry enhanced his skills by becoming a Certified Grant Specialist in 2001. Jerry played at the collegiate level in basketball. Jerry’s personal commitment to community is personified through his establishing youth athletics in a rural economically deprived community and coaching for twenty five plus years. During this same period of time, he served in leadership roles with his local chamber and United Way. Jerry has served his community by chairing his county’s strategic planning committee. Jerry has held numerous leadership positions in his church, including Youth Director and Chair of Pastor-Parish Relations. Jerry has served as the President of the South Carolina Youth Workers Association and inaugural President of the Winthrop University Tip-Off club. Jerry is married and the father of five children with eight grandchildren. |
